In the first frame, you can specify which dictionaries
you want them to be involved in translation. If you don't choose
one, EasyRead will use default dictionary. When there is more than
one dictionary in the list, you can select one or several of them.
You can also adjust their priorities by click "Up"
or "Down" button. The upper one will
take precedence over lowers in translation. Press "Properties..."
button will popup "Dictionary properties" dialog
in which you can see the dictionary information, such as version,
item count, etc.
In the frame labeled "Translation",
you can set translation options. After translation, all words in
the document will be regarded as six types - Grasped, Known, Seen,
Learning, Emphatic and New. "Grasped" words are those
you can use arbitrarily. "Known" words are the words you know
the meaning but can't always spell them correctly or use them in
writing freely. "Seen" words are the words you seem have
seen them sometime but don't know their meaning. "Learning"
words are what you want to learn. "Emphatic" words are
those that you want displayed highlighted for any reasons. "New"
words are the words you don't know.
You may choose have some type of words show or hide their definitions
or/and phonetic symbols in translated document by check the boxes
beside on or off. In most cases, you may want "Grasped"
and "Known" words don't show definitions while "New"
words do.
The next three radio buttons indicate how the definitions will be
showed. If you want learning the language, you may choose "Show
translation field randomly". The third option is not suggested,
for you will get a difficult read result if you choose it.
Sometime a word is translated several times in one paragraph. If
you don't want this case occurs you can check the box "Hide
same word's translation" and set the range a desired count.
Don't set the number too large or too small; 20-50 may be appropriate.
In some situations, this maybe doesn't function as good as you except,
for some webpage don't layout as we imagine. They contain
many tables. The paragraphs in those pages don't be arranged from
top to bottom. To translate these pages, you'd better turning the
option off.
In the "User Level" frame, you can add word list file
into the list or remove them. You can edit them too. The word in
these files will be translated as you've marked them as "Known"
but don't add real mark.
In the "Ignore word" frame, you can add word list file
into the list or remove them. You can edit them too. The word in
these files will be ignored when translating if you check the "Using
ignore word list" box. If you check "Ignore single letter",
all single letters won't be translated. If you check "Ignore
'Grasped' word", all words you've marked as "Grasped"
will also be ignored. When you click the ignored words in the translated
page, no word menu poped. If you want change these words' type,
you can selected them first, then right click the mouse button on
the selection, the word menu will popup.
